Animal Safety with Timber Fencing

August 6, 2020by suzie

Installing timber fencing around your property is extremely important for the safety of your pets and farm animals. Timber fencing prevents your animals from escaping, sections off your land and prevents animals being hurt on wire fencing.

Prevents animals from escaping

Whether you have a dog or goat, timber fences are a great way to secure your back yard or farm land so that your animals can roam free on your property without the hassle and worry of them escaping.

Pets are lovely additions to the family and can bring lots of joy and happiness, although, you need a secure back yard so that your pets don’t escape.

If you have a big animal like a dog, most dogs can jump over a mesh or wire fence and smaller dogs can crawl through metal wire fences. That’s why timber fences are the perfect solution for both small dogs, big dogs and pets in general, as it prevents them from escaping.

This is due to the fact that timber fences are high and can be built at 1.2 or 1.8 meters tall, so that the pets can’t jump the fence. On top of this, the timber fences don’t have any big gaps for little pets to slide through. That’s why they are perfect for small and large pets.

Timber fences are also used on farms, as farm animals need to be kept separate from each other and the timber fence ensures the animals are contained in their own paddock, and not left roaming freely on the farm land or on other people’s property.

Section off your land

If you need to section off your land to ensure that your animals only stay on one part of your land, timber fencing is the prefect solution. Timber fencing is tall and strong enough to prevent animals from jumping over the fence or wondering into another section.

Prevents animals hurting themselves on wire fencing

Worn down wire and broken wire fencing can be a hazard to farm animals and pets as they can get scratched on the wire, attempt to crawl through the fence holes and get stuck and are able to jump over a weak wire fence.

However, timber fencing can prevent all these problems as animals cannot crawl through a timber fence or scratch themselves on the smooth wood. On top of this, the animals cannot climb over the timber fence as it is tall and strong. That is why replacing your old wire fence with a timber fence is the safest and best option.
